Welsummers

Picture
This breed originated in Holland,
and are known for their laying large terra-cotta (reddish-brown) colored eggs - 200-250 per year. Many of the eggs are speckled or have varying dark brown spots on them. The hens and roosters have very different coloration - the rooster used on the Kellogg's cereal box was a Welsummer!
