We started in March of 2010 with 30 baby chicks we purchased from a hatchery, and my daughter raised them, and gathered eggs and sold what we didn't use. We free-ranged our birds and fed them organic grain because we wanted to have the healthiest food for our family that we could. Before we long, we were hatching our own chicks and expanding to include different breeds of chickens to obtain the rainbow of egg colors we currently enjoy. We added Ducks, and Guineas, and Kentucky Bourbon Red Turkeys, as well as Freedom Ranger broilers... we built more coops and yards, and purchased a 2,000 egg capacity incubator. We are in our 4th year of hatching and selling poultry locally. Our goal is to provide a local source for poultry that is hardy for our Minnesota winters, is raised naturally, and is available in smaller quantities for people who want to add a little variety to their flock, or are just starting out with chickens to provide eggs for their families, as well as the ability to fill larger orders. We are available to answer questions and give support to customers to make this process easier and make the learning curve go smoothly. Our birds free range as much as possible, and we feed an organic grain. During hatching season our birds are penned separatedly, not caged, and still have outside access in fenced yards.
